A minimum notice of 5 days or more is required for a full refund. Please note that refunds cannot be issued for Acts of God, storms, accidents, or other unforeseen events.
Our American Continental Breakfast is served daily from 6:30 to 9:00 AM Arizona time in our beautifully restored ballroom
All reservations must provide a card on file, regardless of booking source. A card covers incidental charges such as theft or damages, and ensures a smooth checkout. Please note that no refunds are given for guests unaware of this policy at check-in. If no card is provided then the reservation will be refused entry to the rooms due to liability.
All of our rooms feature individual temperature control units that can be adjusted right in your room. If you need any assistance operating them, please don’t hesitate to reach out. The ballroom is also temperature-controlled, though our other common areas do not have this feature at present. All common areas have heat just not AC. Adding temperature control throughout the hotel is part of our future improvement plans—your stay helps us get closer to restoring one of Arizona’s historic gems.
Our American Continental Breakfast includes your choice of cold cereal with milk, oatmeal packets to prepare yourself, muffins and croissants, jam and butter, a variety of yogurt flavors, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, and hot cocoa.
Check-in begins at 4:00 PM in our lobby located at 145 W Route 66. Check-out is by 11:00 AM on the day of your departure. You can call, text, visit us in person, or simply leave your room door open when you leave, and we will record your check-out on your behalf.
We are happy to assist with modifications for any bookings made directly through our website. For bookings made through third-party sites, please contact their customer service directly to make any changes. Please note that cancellations made less than 5 days before the check-in date cannot be approved.
Parking is located directly behind the hotel. Spots can fill up quickly, so we recommend using Second Street as the next best option. Please be careful not to park on Route 66 overnight, as you may receive a ticket or your vehicle could be towed.
Many of our guests need a refrigerator for medications or leftovers. While some rooms have one, most do not due to space limitations. However, we offer a communal refrigerator upstairs and another in the Carriage House foyer for guest use. We can also securely store medications upon request. First aid supplies are available 24/7.
Williams, AZ, offers a richer, more authentic experience than Tusayan, Valle, and Flagstaff. Located along historic Route 66, it features preserved Western charm, friendly locals, and more attractions, including shops, historic sites, and scenic rail experiences. With its relaxed atmosphere and easier access to the Grand Canyon, Williams is the ideal choice for a memorable and immersive southwestern visit.
If you’re looking for a king bed, you’ll find two in Room 13, and one each in Rooms 15, 11, 7, and 19, as well as in Carriage House rooms 1–3. The Carriage House is located directly behind the hotel and remains an important part of its history.
Most of our guests don’t experience any issues, but if something does come up, please call our 24-hour line at 928-635-1419. There is always someone on call, see our front desk sign for our other on call information and your late check in details.

Unfortunately, we are a pet-free facility. However, there are other hotels in Williams and Airbnb options that can accommodate your furry family members.
Only Carriage House 1 and Carriage House 3 have bathtubs. Carriage House 3 features a large soaking tub, while Carriage House 1 has a standard-sized tub.
Room 7, 17, 19, and all of our Carriage House Rooms are equipped with TVs, as they are larger in size. We are currently working to address sound issues and hope to offer more TVs in additional rooms in the future.
Due to our hotel being listed on the National Register of Historic Places, we are exempt from ADA building standards. However, we do have some rooms that can possibly accommodate certain mobility limitations. Please feel free to discuss any specific needs or concerns with us, and we will do our best to assist you.
In the US, continental breakfast mainly offers pre-packaged items like cereals, muffins, croissants, yogurt, and coffee for convenience. In Europe, it typically features fresh, local ingredients such as bread, cheeses, cured meats, and fruit, reflecting local traditions. Due to our boutique hotel's size, we cannot provide multiple cultural options or a meat based breakfast. We look forward to offering a pleasant and enjoyable start to your day in our lovely ballroom.
Our historic hotel rooms are smaller because they reflect the design of the original structures, built before indoor plumbing was invented. This historic charm offers an authentic experience, even if the rooms are more compact than modern standards.
Before December 2023, some rooms in the hotel shared a bathroom. That is no longer the case—now, all of our rooms have their own private bathroom.
The Grand Canyon Hotel was renovated in 2024, featuring all-new bathrooms, decor, beds, bedding, sheets, and linens. In 2025, we renovated one of our commercial spaces back to its original purpose as a ballroom. We look forward to undertaking more projects to preserve our history for future generations.
We serve hot coffee in the lobby daily from 6:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. If you prefer to brew your own, the Carriage House foyer and Room 7 each have an in-room coffee pot. Our rooms are cozy and charming—smaller than modern hotel standards—which makes it difficult to offer this amenity in every room.
The Grand Canyon Railway is not affiliated with the Grand Canyon Hotel. We are Arizona’s oldest hotel, completed in January 1891—well before the railroad arrived in 1908. The railway station is located less than a mile away, just an easy 8-minute walk from our doors.
Yes, we do accept service animals. Service animals must be kept with their handler at all times and remain leashed. They should be fully trained at the time of check-in. Any damages caused by service animals will be disclosed and charged to the guest. Please let us know in advance if you will be traveling with a service animal so we can assist you accordingly.
